Teacher Onboarding and Skill Training Course

Welcome to the SumoMath Guide Onboarding Course.

This course is designed to prepare guides to confidently implement the SumoMath program in their classrooms. Throughout the training, guides will learn not only how to use the SumoMath platform, but also the educational philosophy, teaching methodology, and classroom practices that make the program successful.

Unlike traditional teacher training, guides will experience SumoMath from two perspectives. First, they will train as students, completing the same Skill Training that their students will experience. Then, through live workshops and course lessons, they will learn how to guide students, identify common learning challenges, interpret student progress, and create an engaging classroom environment that supports long-term success.

The course combines self-paced online lessons, guided student practice, homework assignments, and live Zoom or in-person training sessions. Each stage builds upon the previous one, allowing guides to immediately apply what they have learned while gaining firsthand experience with the program.

By the end of the course, guides will understand the SumoMath method, confidently use the teacher tools, effectively guide every Skill Training module, interpret student data, conduct one-on-one coaching sessions, and build a classroom culture centered on mastery, perseverance, and meaningful learning.

This onboarding program serves as the foundation for becoming a certified SumoMath Guide and preparing students for long-term success in both mathematics and learning.
